Many of our product lines are developed, tried and tested in-house by specialists and designers. Integrating the advice of external animal experts and developers also plays an important part. High standards of quality and their animal-friendly implementation are just as important for us as the careful handling of complaints.

Since TRIXIE was founded in 1974, the love of pets has grown continually, and today it is subject to completely different requirements than in the past. Therefore at TRIXIE we feel a high responsibility as far as sustainability and social commitment are concerned. We are continually changing and adapting our processes to optimise and intensify them.

A strong Philosophy!

The story of TRIXIE began with a three-and-a-half tonne truck and a Dane. When businessman Bonnik Hansen loaded his truck with dog leashes, toys and chewing bones, he had no idea that his one-man business would develop into a European market leader.


Today, more than 8,500 specialist shops in 100 countries worldwide are provided with about 6,000 items for dogs, cats, birds, small animals and reptiles from our company headquarters in Tarp, Germany.


Our company has more than 600 permanent employees and more than 100 temporary jobs. 50 field service staff look after our customers in Germany, Austria, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. As a training company, we offer training for nine different professions.


In spite of its fast growth and success, the company has remained down-to-earth and authentic. Everybody is on a first-name basis, meetings take place at eye level, and we deal with each other in a fair and open way. A regular exchange of ideas with customers and suppliers is equally important to us as the reliable and helpful processing of enquiries.
